Preparatory sensing school
Day 24 of your Reiki path

Blind sensing

Today you practice sensing over your own body with closed eyes, without touching it. This trains distance, warmth, boundaries and subtle differences.

Closed eyes and sensing hands in quiet perception
Goal of the day

Today you practice sensing over your own body with closed eyes, without touching it. This trains distance, warmth, boundaries and subtle differences.

  Guidance

Sit comfortably and place one forearm loosely in front of you, for example on your thigh or on a table. Hold the other hand a few centimeters above it.

Close your eyes. Slowly guide the hand over the forearm, from the wrist toward the elbow and back again. The hand does not touch the arm.

Move slowly enough that you can notice changes. Are there places that seem warmer? Denser? More tingling? Are there areas where you sense almost nothing?

After two minutes, switch arms.

✦   What you might sense

Perhaps you notice something different above the wrist than above the middle of the forearm. Perhaps you sense body warmth. Perhaps the distance feels clear although you are not looking. Perhaps one side is more sensitive.

You may remain completely sober. It does not have to be "mystical." Perception becomes trustworthy when you do not exaggerate it.

✦   Note for beginners

If you are unsure, briefly open your eyes, check the distance and close them again. Over time your body learns to assess space more precisely.

This exercise is also good for later understanding: Reiki hands do not always have to touch immediately. Sometimes proximity alone is enough to perceive something.

✦   Closing

Place both hands on your thighs. Sense afterward whether your hands are more awake now.

Which place on the arm could I perceive most clearly?

Your answer belongs in your personal Reiki journal. It grows with every day and stays with you alone.

✦   Note

Practice several times a day

Once you are signed up, single days become a path: your progress is saved, your journal is kept, and the attunement days open at the right time.
