Karma and
Reiki

Recognising and releasing karmic patterns

✦   Karma and Reiki

Looking honestly at recurring patterns

The word karma is easily misused. Many use it to explain difficult experiences too quickly or to push responsibility conveniently into the background. That is not suitable for a mature Reiki practice. If this subject is to be treated meaningfully, then it should be grounded: karma can be understood as a pointer to recurring patterns, to entanglements that repeat in similar ways, to the consequences of actions and attitudes that do not simply disappear just because one no longer wants to see them.

Reiki is not a tool here for deleting a secret cosmic balance sheet. But it can help to recognize such patterns more calmly, more clearly and with less self-deception. That is precisely where its value lies.

What can sensibly be meant by karmic patterns

Some people experience that they repeatedly end up in similar relationships, create similar conflicts or fail at the same inner thresholds. Others sense old guilt, lasting harshness toward themselves or a heavy attachment to situations long past. Whether one calls that karmic or simply a recurring life pattern is not the decisive point. What matters is not looking only at the single scene, but at the line behind it.

Reiki cannot interpret this line for you. But it can help reduce the inner noise so that the structure becomes more visible. When a treatment clears the state, it often becomes easier to recognize what keeps happening again and again.

Which symbols are especially fitting here

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is obvious in this context because it connects across space and time. When a present state is clearly linked to earlier experiences, old bonds or long-carried patterns, this symbol creates a meaningful bridge.

Sei He Ki is just as important, because karmic or recurring patterns are almost never purely mental. They live in states: shame, guilt, fear, defiance, hardness, compulsion to repeat. The symbol dissolves states, including psychological states. It therefore does not help by erasing the story, but by loosening the firmness of the inner knot.

Cho Ku Rei can be used additionally in a collected and stabilizing way, especially when dealing with old patterns costs a lot of strength or the person easily becomes scattered.

Practical examples

One example: You notice that every form of criticism brings you into the same old state. Immediately the throat tightens, the belly contracts, and an old pattern of defense or withdrawal begins inside. Then Reiki can help to treat not only the current scene, but the deeper repetition. Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen takes up the connection in time, Sei He Ki works on the held state.

Or another person carries guilt for a long time, even though the external circumstances are over. Perhaps the guilt is justified, perhaps exaggerated, usually a mixture of both. Reiki cannot judge here. But it can help the person hold the state of hardening, self-punishment or paralyzing shame differently.

The subject can also arise in relationships. Some connections feel not only difficult, but strangely old or heavy. Without drifting into grand claims, one can still acknowledge that certain encounters touch deep layers. Reiki can then serve to clarify the entanglement, not to control the other person.

What you should avoid

Especially with karma, fantasy is a great danger. It is unhelpful to derive a former-life guilt or an invisible law from every difficulty at once. Such explanations sound deep, but often help little. Reiki should not be used to cover life with heavy stories of meaning.

A simply examining attitude is better: Which pattern repeats itself? Which state is activated again and again by it? Where do I need release, where responsibility, where perhaps also reparation or clear change in behavior?

How the work becomes fruitful

Not because all questions are suddenly answered. But because a person runs less blindly into the same repetition. Perhaps they recognize earlier when the old pattern begins. Perhaps they react less automatically. Perhaps it becomes possible to make a choice where before there was only repetition.

An old Reiki master would probably say: Do not search for a grand explanation for every suffering. Rather see where the same thing keeps binding itself again and again, and release there what can be released. In exactly this way, Reiki can deal with the subject of karma with dignity.
