Phase 7 · Reiki III – Master Level
Day 297 of your Reiki path

Welcome to the
Master Level

The highest level begins

✦   Welcome to the master degree

The highest level begins with more simplicity

The master degree is not a summit for vanity. Whoever arrives here has already practiced some things, recognized some things, unlearned some things again and hopefully also noticed that with every degree Reiki asks less for outer shine and more for inner form. That is why a good beginning of Reiki III is not loud, but quiet. It carries dignity, but no self-exaltation.

Many expect the master degree above all to bring more energy or more specialness. Both are understandable, but fall short. The master degree deepens not only the reach of Reiki, but above all the responsibility with which you carry strength, symbols, stillness and guidance. It asks more strongly for character than for effect.

What changes with the master degree

The previous tools are not left behind. Self-treatment, partner work, distant healing, ethics, body scan, understanding of symbols and the Gokai continue to carry. But they are viewed in a different light. Up to now, you could still understand Reiki II strongly as a learning phase. Now something begins that asks for integration, maturity and inner authority.

Authority here is not domination. It means that your practice should be carried from a deeper center. Less search for confirmation, more truthfulness. Less presentation, more inner reliability.

The role of the master symbol

With Reiki III, Dai Ko Myo enters the space. It is the master symbol and provides maximum energy. This statement sounds large, but it must be understood calmly. Maximum energy does not mean raw intensity at any price. It means rather that with the master symbol, a deeper, more comprehensive quality of Reiki becomes accessible, one that does not only carry more, but differently.

Precisely for this reason, the master degree needs a grounded attitude. A symbol of this order does not belong in restless hands or in a practice that still constantly craves effect. It asks rather for collectedness, humility and precision.

Which previous symbols remain important

Cho Ku Rei remains the power symbol for collectedness, charging and boundary-setting. It is indispensable even in the master degree, because great energy without clear collectedness quickly becomes blurred.

Sei He Ki remains essential because even at higher levels states must be released, including psychological states. There is no point at which emotional and mental work becomes unnecessary.

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen remains the symbol of connection across space and time. Especially in the master degree, it often becomes even clearer that every deeper work also demands ethical clarity in dealing with such connection.

Practical examples for the beginning

One example: someone begins the master degree and immediately feels a mixture of reverence, joy and unrest. Then it is not wise to cover this unrest with great spiritual zeal. Far more meaningful is a quiet first self-treatment in which what is there is gathered: expectation, fear, gratitude, tension.

Or another person notices that in the master degree they are less attracted by the new level than by the question of whether they are equal to the responsibility. This too is a good beginning. Mastery does not begin in a feeling of superiority, but in a clear view of what wants to be carried.

How to hold this beginning with dignity

Take your time. Not every insight has to be formulated immediately. A new degree often works first in the background. This is not a deficiency, but often a sign that something is not happening merely on the surface.

It can also be helpful to keep the first days consciously simpler: more self-treatment, more stillness, less urge to apply or explain everything immediately. At the beginning, the master degree often carries best when it is not displayed at once.

What should be avoided

A poor entry into Reiki III consists of rank-thinking. Whoever now mainly wants to be "further" or "higher" misses the core. It is just as unhelpful to expect the master degree to end all uncertainty. This phase too remains a path.

Grand words about light, power or calling are rarely helpful at this point. Quiet practice is usually more credible than solemn self-statements.

How a good beginning can be recognized

You become quieter, not more inflated. The master degree may make you more sensitive, but not more dramatic. You feel more responsibility, but not as a burden, rather as seriousness. That is where this highest level begins in a good way.

An old Reiki master might say: when the highest degree begins, first lower your voice. For what truly grows does not need much noise at the beginning.

"What is important for me today after reading this day?"

Your answer belongs in your personal Reiki journal. It grows with every day and stays with you alone.
