Today you learn to perceive one hand with the other without touching it. This is good preparation for later Reiki work because you begin to sense distance, warmth and subtle fields more consciously.
Today you learn to perceive one hand with the other without touching it. This is good preparation for later Reiki work because you begin to sense distance, warmth and subtle fields more consciously.
Sit comfortably. Place your left hand open on your thigh or on a table, palm facing upward.
Now slowly bring your right hand above it. Keep about five to ten centimeters of space between the hands. The upper hand does not touch the lower one.
Stay like this for two minutes. Let the right hand simply hover. If your arm becomes tired, support the elbow lightly or reduce the height. It should not become strenuous.
Sense into both hands at the same time. What happens in the lower hand? What happens in the upper one? Is there warmth, pull, tingling, pressure, coolness or a feeling of connection?
Then switch sides. The right hand lies open, the left hand hovers above it.
Perhaps you notice that one hand responds more strongly than the other. Perhaps the lower hand becomes warm even though it is not being touched. Perhaps a subtle pull appears in the center of the palm. Perhaps you also simply sense the distance very consciously.
All of this is usable perception. There is no correct result.
If you are unsure whether you are sensing energy or only body warmth, you do not have to decide that today. At the beginning it is not about labels. It is about getting to know subtle differences.
Place both hands loosely on your thighs and feel afterward. Are the hands more alive now than before the exercise?
Your answer belongs in your personal Reiki journal. It grows with every day and stays with you alone.
Practice several times a day
