Cleansing Reiki II
Day 2

Physical changes

✦   Cleansing Reiki II – Day 2

When the body responds

On the second cleansing day, for many people the physical comes more strongly to the foreground. That is not surprising. What has been set in motion inwardly often first seeks expression through sleep, digestion, tiredness, warmth, cold, pressure in the head, or a changed need for food and withdrawal. Anyone who wants to understand Reiki for a long time only as a fine spiritual experience is reminded on such days: the body works with it.

Day 2 in particular is therefore a good moment not to pass over the body. Reiki II does not only change the theory of your practice. It touches your rhythm. Perhaps it was harder for you to get out of bed in the morning. Perhaps your shoulders pull although you did nothing unusual. Perhaps the belly reacts more sensitively, or you are strikingly thirsty. Such things are not automatically "mystical", but they can fit a cleansing phase.

Taking physical changes seriously

It is important here to become neither crude nor hysterical. Crude would be to ignore everything and simply carry on as if your system were a machine. Hysterical would be to immediately declare every sensation a great sign. The good middle way is: perceive, note, accompany.

An example: you notice light pressure in the head and inner overstimulation. Then a quiet treatment of forehead and back of the head is sensible, but it is just as important later to go to heart area, solar plexus, and feet. Another example: your belly is restless and at the same time you feel scattered. Then often what helps is not even more mental occupation, but something very simple: warmth, water, simple food, hands on the belly, a slow evening.

Why the body speaks so clearly

In Reiki II, emotional and mental layers come more strongly into play. Precisely for that reason, it is helpful that the body works along as an honest translator. It often shows earlier than the mind when something is too much, too fast, or too unclear. When the chest area becomes tight, the belly pulls, or the legs become heavy, that is not a side issue. It is information.

An old Reiki master might say here: when the energy works more deeply, listen to the place where the body answers first. Not every answer is spectacular. But it is usually more reliable than mere circling thoughts about meaning.

How you work with Reiki today

The second cleansing day benefits from a somewhat more grounded self-treatment. It is good not to give all attention to the head, even if unrest sits there. Often it is more helpful to come back into the centre through belly and legs. The solar plexus is an important place on such days, because tension, need for control, and overwhelm often show themselves there directly. Knees and feet should also not be left out today.

Cho Ku Rei can be helpful on such a day as the power symbol in order to gather a treatment clearly. Not to overrule the body, but to let the energy flow here and now in an ordered way. Especially when you feel scattered or thin-skinned, this kind of focusing can be very soothing. The only important thing is that you do not misunderstand the symbol as acceleration. It gathers. It does not force.

What you can change practically

Perhaps today you need more simplicity than on other days. Less screen, less noise, less heavy food, fewer discussions. Cleansing days are not ideal days for self-education through harshness. They are rather days for ordered gentleness. That does not mean you become passive. It only means that you do not constantly expose the body to new stimuli while it is already responding to inner processes.

Movement too should be chosen appropriately today. A quiet walk can do good. A completely overloaded programme rather not. Someone who feels physically changed often does not need additional intensification, but a clear rhythm.

The quality of observation

If you keep a Reiki journal, today is especially worthwhile. Do not only note "tired" or "pressure in the head", but more precisely: When did it begin? What helped? How was the self-treatment? How was the sleep? Was there warmth in the hands? Was the belly calmer after ten minutes? This turns cleansing from mere mood into experiential knowledge.

Over time you may notice that your body reacts in typical ways to initiations or more intensive symbol phases. Precisely this recognition later helps you remain calmer. What still feels strange today can tomorrow already be a familiar language of your system.

The body is not the obstacle

Day 2 reminds you of something essential: in Reiki, the body is not the obstacle one would have to leave behind. It is part of the path. If something changes here, it is worth listening. Not fearfully, not arrogantly, but precisely.

Cleansing Reiki II – Day 2 is therefore not a day for grand theories. It is a day for clean perception. If you take it this way, even tiredness can become instructive. For it shows you where Reiki is not asking for words right now, but for good accompaniment.

"What is important for me today after reading this day?"

Your answer belongs in your personal Reiki journal. It grows with every day and stays with you alone.
