— what really happens
An honest companion through the most
intense phase of Reiki practice

After a Reiki attunement — whether at the first, second or Master level — a phase traditionally begins that the Reiki world simply calls “the 21 days”. Three weeks during which the energetic body sorts itself anew, in which old things rise to the surface, in which much moves on the inside.
The number goes back to Mikao Usui, the founder of the Usui Reiki system. He is said to have spent 21 days in meditation and fasting on Mount Kurama near Kyoto before he received the Reiki energy. Some say it was exactly 21. Some say it was simply “a long time”. In the tradition, the 21 days have endured — as a mirror period after attunement.
An attunement opens channels. Reiki now begins to flow through you more strongly — and does what it always does: go where attention is needed. Sometimes those are places we haven't looked at for a long time. Old themes, old feelings, old physical tensions can speak up. That is not illness — that is movement.
Three weeks is a meaningful cycle in many other traditions too: three times seven days, three full week rhythms. Long enough for something deeper to move. Short enough to remain manageable.
The first days are often the most intense. Reiki flows freshly, and the body notices. Some people feel euphoric and full of energy. Others feel tired, because something deep is reorganising itself. Both are normal.
Physically: mild headaches, more or less appetite than usual, stronger thirst, very clear or very muddled sleep. Sometimes small skin reactions — the body is “airing out”.
Emotionally: old themes surface, perhaps tears with no clear reason. Perhaps sudden clarity about an old situation. Perhaps simply: deep calm.
The second week often brings a wave. What was hinted at in week one becomes clearer now. Dreams grow more vivid, sometimes with old acquaintances or memories you thought long forgotten. That is not silliness — that is housekeeping.
Physically: heightened self-awareness. You notice where tension sits. Tiredness may increase or recede.
Emotionally: themes want to be understood. Writing helps. Talking with someone you trust helps. Pushing it away doesn't work here.
In the third week, much calms down. The new becomes familiar. Reiki no longer flows as “new” — it simply flows. You notice that you have changed, perhaps very quietly.
Physically: the sensation of Reiki flow in the hands becomes steadier. Self-treatment feels “self-evident”.
Emotionally: more clarity. What truly matters becomes more visible. What is unimportant grows quieter.
If physical complaints are strong, persist or worry you — see a doctor. Reiki and medicine are not opposites; they are partners.
In the morning, before you get up: lay both hands on your heart. Take three deep breaths. Say inwardly: “I am open to what comes today.” In the evening, before sleep, the same, with: “Thank you for this day.” No more is needed.
After the 21 days, nothing is “complete”. Reiki is a lifelong practice — the 21 days are only the first, most intense stretch. You will go on growing, go on clarifying, go on sensing. But the pace will soften. The waves will become smaller. The ground will become steadier.
Perhaps you'll now want more: deeper practice, more knowledge, further attunements. Perhaps you'll want to pass Reiki on. Perhaps what you have now is enough — and that too is good.
Klarooo Reiki is a companion for more than a year through the whole Reiki journey. From the first breath through Reiki II to Master level. A small practice each day, 5–30 minutes. No pressure, just rhythm.
If you experienced the 21 days as a beginning, Klarooo would be the natural next step — a calm, structured companionship that does not leave you alone.
